Liverpool and Man City all square at Anfield

Four second half goals failed to separate the contenders for a top four place as Liverpool and Manchester City drew 2-2 at Anfield.

For the Reds it was two more dropped points whilst for the visitor's it was their sixth successive stalemate in the Premier League.

An uneventful first half the game burst into life five minutes into the second period when Martin Skrtel broke the deadlock with his first goal for the club.

Emmanuel Adebayor headed Manchester City level on 69 minutes from a Craig Bellamy corner, then seven minutes later the Kop was silenced as Stephen Ireland put City ahead.

But that lead lasted barely a minute as Yossi Benayoun restored parity from close-range.

The draw means Liverpool have only one of their last ten games in all competitions and boss Rafa Benitez had to contend with further problems as centre-back Daniel Agger was stretchered off with a head injury just 11 minutes in, and Ryan Babel left seven minutes later with an ankle problem.
