Atalanta on brink of deal for Sevilla striker Chevanton

Sevilla striker Javier Chevanton is set to return to Italy.

Atalanta are in advanced talks to sign the Uruguay international ahead of the January market.

Stories in the peninsula on Friday claim that Atalanta President Alessandro Ruggeri and sporting director Carlo Osti flew to Spain this week for talks and they seem to have got their man.

Chevanton, 26, will arrive on loan from Sevilla with the option to buy outright at the end of the campaign for around £5m.
