Arsenal hero Winterburn: I’m disappointed with Henry
Arsenal hero Nigel Winterburn was stunned by Thierry Henry's blatant hand-ball for France this week.
Gunners legend Winterburn said he was stunned that a player of Henry's stature would stoop so low.
He told The Sun: "It clearly was cheating. He clearly plays the ball with his hand and the goal should have been disallowed.
"I'm slightly disappointed really with Thierry's reaction after when he was celebrating. But I think this morning, knowing Thierry Henry, when he wakes up and realises that the disappointment and the reaction, particularly in England, that he's been receiving, it will hurt him a lot.
"It will hurt him because he's had such a massive reputation over in England. I think it would probably hurt him even more if he was still playing his football in the Premier League. So maybe it might be a good thing that he's actually playing over in Barcelona.
"His reputation has been damaged over here because everybody remembers him as such a magical player.
"Now they're going to be looking to the handball incident that eventually knocked Ireland out of the World Cup."
