dunno what u saying about camoranesi he's having an amazing season
Sorry,i meant to say Zarate should NOT JUMP SHIP.Not switch nationality.
Gianpaolo,u are so on point!I luv u.Believe me,with Lippi's present attitude towards player selection,Italy's Euro 2008 performance will be adjudged better than South Africa 2010,because they will be beaten BLACK N BLUE!Tell u what,Cassano holds the key,not Totti, not Del Piero.Personaly,i want to see younger players in the team, like Santon,Geovinco,Rossi,Pazzini,Aquilani,Quagliarella. Its amazing how much young talent Italy has but dont utilize. If they stick to the old guns TOO MUCH,they will suffer.Italy dont realy play on the wings,so why not play Cassano behind 2 strikers(Gilardino,Pazzini,Iaquinta,or Inzaghi)and then go with 3 in the middle(MUST include Pirlo! He glues that midfield together). Then u have your normal leg-breakers at the back(Chiellini,Nesta,Grosso,Zambrotta). Its a fair XI.The Juve thing is a problem but nothin much can be done about it for now.If Totti wants out, then let him stay out! Finally,Zarate should stick to being Argentine. He'l make a good career with the likes of Messi n Aguero. He should NOT NOT NOT jump ship just cuz he's not taken to South Africa. There are many older n more influential midfielders in Argentina now,but am sure he'l get his chance.

Indeed... Totti is your Air Jordan. Let's see if a twist of fate lands him in South Africa. Speaking of Romanistas, Aquilani would be a good addition now that he has recovered from injury. I hear where you are coming from with Pirlo, but I think you're being unnecessarily hard on him. He has a sweet foot and is a playmaker.
I personally don't like the feeling I get when I see Lippi trying to push a Juventino through citizenship to get them on the Italian team. Not very patriotic.
To Lippi's credit though, each game I see the Azzuri play, they seem to gel better and better.
Finally, in reference to the article, Lippi is correct in calling the Minister of Defence on his meddling as he really has no place in the world of calcio and should spend his time talking of other things.
Lippi just doesn't get it. People are complaining about Cassano because the current team, aren't the best players in Italy anymore. Many of them are done, finished, not playing well for their own seria A team. We all know there are better players in Seria A. The national team just isn't powerful enough. These weak games they play are pissing everyone off, and rightfully so. There are games where the Azzuri have played like sh#t and Lippi seems to still be satisfied. Believe me there is nothing to be satisfied with. We can do better, a lot better! Cassano would help the team because right now there's no midfield whatsoever. We're supposed to rely on Pirlo? Pirlo is so over-rated. He's like Pippen maybe, where's are Jordan? All we do is recruit new strikers and they can't score a goal for sh#t? Pirlo is surrounded by great players on Milan and sometimes he does well, but many times you wouldn't even know he's on the field. He's not a warrior out there, he's a classically trained midfielder. Thast it. This is getting ridiculous now. I question so many players on this team. Zambrotta, Camoranesi, Gattuso. Is Gattuso even a good player?Jesus Christ I have never seen him do anything!!? Lately all he does is run people over? So yes, we want Cassano, because he has something. When he touches the ball he creates that little magic that we desperately need. He's one of the only players in Italy who is Baggio-esque. Shit, he can at least dribble. When's the last time you saw an italian player dribble a couple guys and blast it in?-Rossi, which was a good move, but not good enough. Enough Milan players. Milan sucks! If ur gunna put someone in from Milan put in Insaghi. That guy stays HUNGRY for goals and won't quit for anything. What this team had in 06 that it doesn't have now are more Roma players. Totti is older then he used to be, and kinda stupid for quitting the national team, but he has that magic too. He adds a different dimension to our midfield that we need BADLY.
