Fiorentina ace Montolivo unsure of Italy World Cup squad place

Fiorentina midfielder Riccardo Montolivo admits he's unsure of his place in Italy's World Cup squad.

The 24-year-old made a rare start in an experimental Italy side against Sweden on Wednesday night.

Montolivo said: "It was a good first half and we played the ball to feet quickly. We struggled a little more after the break and went too deep.

“It's difficult to say what will happen at the World Cup. The Coach will make his decisions. Right now, I don't feel I have any chance of being in South Africa.

“I have to wait and see how this long season develops. Fiorentina playing in the Champions League can certainly help me to convince the Coach."
