English journeyman Cooke in with Nth Qld Fury
English midfielder Terry Cooke has arrived in Townsville to hook up with North Queensland Fury as he attempts to win a contract for the remainder of season.
Cooke is looking to impress Ian Ferguson and replace another Englishman on Fury’s roster in the injured Paul Robinson.
Cooke has played for an amazing array of clubs in his career including Manchester United, Sunderland, Birmingham, Wrexham, Manchester City, Wigan, Sheffield Wednesday and Grimsby but Cooke’s best stage of his long career was with Colorado Rapids in the MLS where he played for fpur seasons and was voted player with most goal assists.
Cooke’s greatest strength is his quality crosses and that should make Robbie Fowler and Daniel McBreen happy.
With the two forwards in fine form, especially Liverpool legend Fowler, the arrival of Cooke sets up an exciting run home for the Fury who have a large number of their remaining games at Dairy Farmers in Townsville.
