No spending spree for Man City in transfer window
Manchester City chief executive Garry Cook has suggested the club's spending will be scaled down in January.
The Eastlands club spent more than £100million last summer as they reshaped their squad with the help of new owner Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan's cash.
Cook told the club's official website: "January is always busy, busier for some more than others.
"Mark (Hughes, manager) has some thoughts and some plans but they are by no means as aggressive as they have been in the past that is for sure. We have a great squad of players that are just getting bedded in.
"We might find there is more speculation about what we might do than what we actually do."
Cook, currently in Abu Dhabi with the non-international element of City's squad, added things were going to plan on the pitch so far this season, despite a run of five consecutive draws in the Premier League.
He continued: "We are not disappointed with what we have done on the pitch so far this season. It is not a great start but it is not a bad start - Mark Hughes has said that himself - we are right on target for where we want to be.
"Everyone is desperate for something to happen and we have put ourselves in a good position. We are sixth in the table with a home Carling Cup quarter-final tie to come."
