Sunderland striker Bent confident England can topple Brazil
Sunderland striker Darren Bent has expressed his delight at being recalled to Fabio Capello’s England squad and believes the team can knock off Brazil.
The former Tottenham man has been in brilliant form since joining the Black Cats in the summer, scoring eight league goal so far, and said he was happy to be given another opportunity to represent hi country.
“I do think I'm playing better now and I'm really happy to be back in the England set up," Bent told the club's official website.
"Steve Bruce rang me when he found out I'd been called up and he had some nice words for me. That means a lot.
"It would be great to play alongside Wayne (Rooney) and hopefully we can start up a partnership.”
England take on Brazil in an international friendly in Qatar on Saturday and Bent is confident the Three Lion cans get the job done against the number one ranked team in the world.
"I'm confident England can beat Brazil, it should be a good game. I'm really looking forward to it,” he added.
