Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has hinted he is ready to cross the pain barrier to play for Portugal this week.
Portugal must beat Bosnia in their World Cup playoff to book their places for South Africa and Ronaldo has been selected, despite carrying a major ankle injury.
Asked if he intends to play, Ronaldo said: "I do not want to imagine a World Cup without our presence. All national team players and coaches are united in that goal. I want to prove we can be optimistic that we will be in South Africa."
Asked if he will end his career in Portugal, Ronaldo added: "I'm not saying either yes or no. I have a six-year contract with Madrid and when the end comes I will think what to do."
