Barcelona convinced Liverpool could sell Mascherano in January

Barcelona are planning a bid for Liverpool midfielder Javier Mascherano.

The Mail on Sunday says Barca haven't shelved plans of landing the Argentine after missing out on him last summer.

An end-of-season deal is being considered, but Barca are hopeful they may even secure Mascherano this winter, encouraged by talk of the imminent financial crisis at Liverpool.
