Birmingham boss McLeish determined to have final say on signings
Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish is anxious about having final say on new signings.
McLeish is keen to get the players he wants rather than glamorous ageing superstars chasing a bumper pay-day.
And he has noted Alan Curbishley won his case against West Ham for constructive dismissal over the club’s transfer dealings.
“I think it will be important I have the final say but I have been assured that that is the case,” said McLeish. “It is topical after what happened with Alan Curbishley but I have had assurances. I pick the players that will enhance the team.
“If there are players that Carson or people in China have identified that we can look at then I am all for that.
“We have to be open-minded to have a look at one or two players. We may agree on something on a player but I want the final say.”
