Parma chief Leonardi: No stars will be sold
Parma sports chief Pietro Leonardi insists none of their stars are for sale in January.
McDonald Mariga has been linked with a swap at Inter Milan for fullback Davide Santon.
But Leonardi says: “We will not sell any of our big stars.
“I want to make that perfectly clear because transfer gossip can destabilise the atmosphere around a club, worrying both fans and players. That is especially true of the younger players who need to be reassured of their stability. We have heard rumours in recent weeks about Mariga, [Daniele] Galloppa and [Valeri] Bojinov, but there’s no truth in them.
“We will only be selling those players who aren’t often used, otherwise there’s no point talking about a Parma plan.
“We are not a supermarket, you don’t step into the Stadio Tardini to pick up players as you would a tin of beans. Parma have no intention of weakening the squad.”
