Alex has recalled the show of unity from Chelsea captain John Terry which convinced him about is role at Stamford Bridge.
The Brazil defender has revealed how Terry tried to convince ref Tom Henning Ovrebo that it was he and not Alex who should have been booked for a bad tackle on Lionel Messi in last season's infamous Champions League semifinal defeat to Barcelona.
The booking meant a suspension, and Alex knew it only too well.
"We had gone in on Messi together and JT did his best to fool the referee into thinking that he should have received the yellow card," says Alex to the Daily Mail. "I couldn’t believe it. I thought, 'Wow, for me?' But the ref was having none of it, and the booking stood."
