Melbourne Heart to be known as Sporting Melbourne

ive thought about sporting as a name, just let it sit with me 4 a couple of weeks or so, and now i think it isnt such a bad name, well compared 2 the rest of them.

My vote is 4 sporting melbourne. second vote is for revolution... suppose they both hav history signifigance with melbourne, lik with us being the "sporting capital of the world" and with revolution, the eureka stockade thing...

Love the name Sporting Melbourne. Strong, traditional and a great way to attract people who might be looking to support a team but have an affinity with sport as opposed to just the world game. Sporting Lisbon and Sporting Braga both have rich traditions and it is a name with history. What better name for a team in this city of all cities. No brainer in my opinion.

Y is it Sporting?!?!?!?!?! It should b City, or at least athletic. I was hoping for red and black hoops, but red n white isnt bad either. The other codes and leagues of australia will laugh at this team, not that Heart hasnt been laughed at, but they will think we r full of ****.
I thought there were competitions for these things, but i guess heart dont really know wat the fans want, or they dont care...

I also smell something fishy here. I highly doubt any name has been confirmed on and wish websites reported rather than aimlessly speculated.

I'm all for Melbourne City and don't mind the idea of black and white, red and white or red, black and white.

Hoops are also cool and a bit different but you'd hate if they look like rugby union teams.

Sporting? What a stupid name! Exactly what other sports does this club play? To avoid Anglo names, European names, American names....what's left ? Historical names? FC Melbourne Eureka? Southern Cross FC (bad luck it was used for the SMFC bid)......I say we stick to Melbourne Heart (the name has grown on me) or simply FC Melbourne - black and white are good colours to attract Mark Viduka!

What the hell happened to red and white. God this is a joke right. What happened to Melbourne heart fc. God to much like Collingwood in A F L. may as well call them collingwood or eddie fc . NOT AMUSED
