Liverpool are in pursuit of Hamburg midfielder Eljero Elia according to recent reports.
Reds boss Rafael Benitez is believed to be keen on the 22-year old Dutchman and has suggested agreeing a deal for him and then allowing him to stay in Germany until next summer.
Benitez is currently under fire for Liverpool’s poor form of late and is keen to strengthen his squad and may start with Elia who signed with Hamburg from Dutch club FC Twente for £7million in August.
Elia has broken into Holland’s first team recently and has been earmarked to feature regularly leading into next year’s World Cup finals.
