It makes no difference to players. signing contracts in Spain, they talk in salaries after tax. So it means nothing to Lampard if the tax is 0% or 43% and that's because the clubs pay. So if Barcelona want to buy Lampard and pay him €9 million a year, it now means they have to offer him a much higher salary so when he is taxed at his new 43% he still earns €9 million a year...
"best league in the world" lol, this dude is clearly a joke and leaving in
cloud cuckooland.
All this talk of ruining La Liga is nonsense. Footballers earn an insane amount of money, even after tax. I'm sure the weather and lifestyle will entice players to head to Spain, it's not like they had trouble deciding between there and England before, it's down to how they wish to challenge themselves as footballers.
frankly, i'm retarded.
lol, "micky mouse league which only 2 teams can win". i suppose it's not the same situation in spain where only real madrid and barcelona can win... oh wait, it is. you're clearly not from spain so why defend a league in a country that you're not even remotely related to? do you think people care what league you support? grow up, supporting a foreign league doesn't make you cool or unique. frankly, it's ret@rded.
"With this reform, the most talented foreign players will think twice before coming to play in La Liga." THAT MEANS HE'S SAYING THIS BECAUSE HE DOESN'T EVER WANT IT TO BECOME RELEVANT.
With this reform, the most talented foreign players will think twice before coming to play in La Liga." THAT MEANS THEY ARE ONLY PLAYING THERE FOR THE MONEY
Anonymous, it's reported you're so jealous of La Liga because it's clearly the best. Have fun watching your mickey mouse league which only 2 teams can win, with the rest of the league being a joke.
what he means is that it would take the comparative advantage away meaning they cannot get the players for the same gross outlay. It swings it back in favour of england as it has far more money pouring into it from outside investors. it evens the playing field. Barca is a big draw for players so either Barca have to accept paying more on wages or the player has to accept a lower wage to play for them. In spending 56m on Ibrahimovic it shows they are not exactly short of money so he can cut all the cr*p out about it helping spanish GDP as football is merely a dot in the GDP ocean of the industry of a country. He just wants to be able to buy the players on lower salary costs than big rivals in England. It is a disgrace that such a law was even allowed in the first place for such high earning simpletons.
Change the law and show a human face! Why favour already millionaires?
