Ballack: Chelsea players delighted with Champions League progress
Chelsea midfielder Michael Ballack says they're delighted to have qualified for the next round of the Champions League.
After their 2-2 draw at Atletico Madrid, Chelsea are now assured of a place in the knockout round.
Ballack said: “We are happy to get to the next round so early in the group stage but now we are fighting for first place. We want to finish in first place, that’s the target for the next two games.
“I think today we didn’t play very well but we still showed that we can score in every minute even if we are one-zero down, the team has the confidence to change the game form the last weeks where we played very, very good and we were a bit unlucky to concede the two (goals) but I think the result is fair for both teams. That’s what we needed today – the minimum, a draw – and we got it and now we are looking forward for the next games.”
