Man City determined to buy Inter Milan's Maicon

Manchester City remain keen on Inter Milan fullback Douglas Maicon.

The Sun says City are keen on Inter full-back Maicon, but have earmarked Osasuna's Cesar Azpilicueta if they fail to land the Brazilian.

Yet they are well aware of the uneasy peace currently existing between Toure and Nou Camp bosses and his ability to play in midfield and the heart of defence is a major attraction.

He was offered only a modest increase in wages to £45,000 a week and is one of the lowest-paid players at the club.
