Napoli legend Andrea Carnevale: Sacking Donadoni right decision

Napoli legend Andrea Carnevale says president Aurelio de Laurentiis was right to sack Roberto Donadoni.

Walter Mazzarri has come in as his replacement and overseen two superb comebacks against AC Milan and Juventus in the last week.

Speaking to Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, Carnevale said: “We also won against Juve. Saturday's victory was an extraordinary achievement, a truly great Napoli.

“I think that with Mazzarri [pictured], Napoli have made a truly great signing. He knows how to make the team play well. He impresses it on his players. He is someone who knows what to do.

“It also needs to be said that the players signed by [recently fired director of football] Pierpaolo Marino are actually very good. It's not a fluke that they won in Turin.

“Datolo is a great player. He has legs, an excellent left foot. It's not pure luck that he has been called up by Maradona.”
