Hull may not take up Altidore option from Villarreal
Beleaguered Premier League club Hull City may not make the loan deal of young striker Jozy Altidore a permanent one.
The 19-year old USA international is on loan at KC Stadium from Spanish club Villarreal but with recent developments occurring at Hull, things may be about to change.
Following the resignation of executive chairman Paul Duffen and the potential exit of manager Phil Brown, the Tigers may be forced to make some changes to their playing list, mainly due to financial factors.
The Hull Daily Mail has reported that incoming chairman Adam Pearson will review the clubs finances so that they can stay afloat next season.
‘The intended cull comes as City's financial woes were exposed in the company's latest accounts this week,’ the report read.
‘In them, it was revealed City would need to raise around £23m – although reports now suggest it has been reduced to £18m – to keep the club afloat come the end of the season.
‘At that time, the club will again have to review its finances.
‘City will then examine whether to further reduce costs by not taking up options to make the loans of Ibrahima Sonko and Jozy Altidore permanent moves.’
