New England Revolution have overcome Chicago Fire 2-1 in their opening East Conference play-off semi-final.
The Revolution came from behind after Chicago’s Chris Rolfe netted in the 17th minute to record a stirring victory thanks to goals from Emmanuel Osei and Shalrie Joseph.
Osei put the Revs back on level terms just moments before half-time and Joseph clinched the win with fifteen minutes remaining to give his side a slender lead going into the second leg at Toyota Park on Saturday.
Osei’s deflected shot from a Kenny Mansally free-kick was his first MLS goal and an extremely important one for his club whilst Joseph continued his brilliant form this season with his 75th minute effort.
