Roma coach Ranieri pleased for Vucinic after breaking goals drought
Roma coach Claudio Ranieri was delighted for Mirko Vucinic after he broke his scoring drought in victory over Bologna.
The Giallorossi had lost three on the trot and were heading for another when Bologna took a shock lead at the Olimpico, but Vucinic and Simone Perrotta fought back for a 2-1 victory. Vucinic hadn't scored in Serie A since May 31 against Torino.
“It was a game that started badly, like so many others. We created many scoring opportunities without putting it in the back of the net and our opponents went in front with their first chance,” said the Coach.
“It is becoming a trademark with us. If we managed to fight back and win it, what's more with a goal from Vucinic, then it suggests the tide is turning for Roma.
“We are trying to give it our all, but in Italian football the only thing that counts is the result. Today people will say we put in the effort because we won, but the truth is we used up as much energy against Milan, Livorno and Udinese without getting a point.”
