Liverpool boss Benitez blanks questions about Gerrard's England commitments
Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has blanked questions about Steven Gerrard's availability for England ahead of their friendly against Brazil in Qatar.
Gerrard has not completed a game for Liverpool since their 2-0 defeat away to Chelsea on October 4. Having picked up a groin problem while on international duty, Gerrard started his club’s clash with Lyons on October 20, only to limp off after 25 minutes.
Benítez would not be drawn on whether his captain would be made available for England’s friendly match against Brazil in Qatar on November 14.
“We cannot look one or two weeks ahead,” he said. “The main thing for us is we have an important game against Fulham in which he cannot play. Then we have an important game against Lyons and we have to check the situation every day, so I cannot talk about one or two weeks ahead.”
