Middlesbrough's Williams calm about wasted Australia jaunt

Middlesbrough utility Rhys Williams had no problem not featuring for Australia during the recent home internationals.

Williams flew all the way Down Under to only sit on the bench for the two games against Holland and Oman.

But he told ComeOnBoro.com: "I love going away with my country and obviously with the World Cup coming up soon I've got to keep playing, make sure the gaffer gets to see enough of me and hopefully look forward to World Cup selection."

On the arrival of new manager Gordon Strachan, Williams adds: "It's good, all the lads are really enjoying it. We are all knackered! But we are just looking forward to Saturday now."
