Cardiff's Bothroyd knows nothing of Villa interest

Jay Bothroyd says he is content to stay at Cardiff City and is in the dark over rumoured interest from Premiership Aston Villa.

"I'm very flattered to be linked with someone like Aston Villa, but I'm happy at Cardiff," Bothroyd told Wales Online.

"If you're doing well any player is going to have other teams looking at them. I definitely think there are players who can play at the Premiership at this club, including myself, but we are where we are for a reason.

"It's never been about my ability, perhaps it's been about my attitude. I think I've changed as a person now.

"I want to play at the highest level as soon as possible. At the moment I want to be at Cardiff."
