Former New York Red Bulls stars consider return
Former New York Red Bulls stars Youri Djorkaeff and Tab Ramos are planning a return to the club…but not in playing roles.
Djorkaeff, the French World Cup winner, has considered returning in some sort of coaching role if the club needs him but admitted it was out of his hands.
"We spoke with Erik (Stover, managing director) and Jeff Agoos a couple of weeks ago,” Djorkaeff said.
“I said if you need be, I will be here. If the Red Bulls need me, I will be here. I don't know in which terms, but it's in the hands of the boss. It's not in my hands anymore.''
Former US international Ramos also said that there was potential to move into a scouting role.
"We spoke earlier in the year about the possibility on the scouting side of the club,'' Ramos said. "At this point the only thing I can say is the important thing is to wait until the year is over and at that point we can discuss it.
"I can't make it a secret that I feel this is partly my club, and this is a place where I’d like to be. That's all I can say. Maybe my time is now, maybe my time is two years from now. I don’t know.''
