Villarreal striker Giuseppe Rossi was happy to be watched by Italy coach Marcello Lippi in their Europa League clash with Lazio.
Rossi has been in Lippi’s plans since the latter took over from Roberto Donadoni after Euro 2008 failure.
“I knew that he was in the stands,” said the ex-Parma man. “I think that Lippi saw a good performance from me.
“I still believe I can be a part of that squad,” he stated. “Yet if I want to go then I’ll need to concentrate on doing well with Villarreal, otherwise it’ll get tough.”
