Gold Coast’s Culina identifies Sneijder as Holland’s key
Gold Coast United midfielder Jason Culina has identified former Ajax teammate Wesley Sneijder as a key for the Holland team.
Culina is set to take on the Dutch in an international friendly for Australia this Saturday and believes Sneijder is the man most capable of scoring and creating goals.
“Sneijder's world class,'' Culina said of the Inter Milan man.
“He can score goals, he's right or left foot, he's brilliant at set pieces, he can pick a pass nobody else can see. To me he's Holland's best player, the real star of their team.”
Culina added that he believes the Dutch team will be here to get revenge on the Socceroos after going down to them in Eindhoven last year.
''They definitely want to beat us, they don't like losing any game, especially at home,'' he added.
''The fact that they're basically bringing out their first team shows their intentions. They've got too much pride to take it easy.
“This is a very good Dutch side. They've always had great individuals but now they're starting to click as a team. It doesn't surprise me at all they've qualified for the World Cup so easily.''
