Barcelona defender Pique dismisses Beckenbauer comparisons

Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has laughed off comparisons with German legend Franz Beckenbauer.

Pique has been amongst the goals for Barca this season, which has drawn comparisons with Beckenbauer.

"I have a lot left to do to become what he was. I do not know if someday you can compare him with me, really. Anyway, I am me and Beckenbauer was Beckenbauer," Pique said.

"I do not usually score many goals. The coach does not ask the defenders to score, but it is true that if I can help in that way, it would be best for the team."
