Real Madrid president Florentino: Platini a friend

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez insists he has no problem with UEFA supremo Michel Platini.

Platini has constantly criticised Real's transfer spending for this season and was brought to book by director Emilio Butragueno at the Champions League group draw.

But Perez said yesterday: "The Platini thing comes from when he was asked if we had spent a lot of money and his reply was 'yes'. But he has never criticised Real Madrid.

"I can say publicly he is our friend."
