McAllister turns down Scotland backroom job

Coach George Burley has been rebuffed by Gary McAllister over the chance to join his Scotland staff, reports the Scottish Sun

Burley was confident of luring the ex-Scots captain as a replacement for Steven Pressley and was keen to seal a deal ahead of next month's trip to Japan.

But it's understood McAllister is also a target for at least one club down south.

A deal could be imminent for the former Coventry and Leeds boss as he looks to return to full-time football.
