Champions League final referee banned for giving finger to fans!
The referee who took charge of last season’s Champions League final between Manchester United and Barcelona, Massimo Busacca, has been banned for three matches by the Swiss FA for raising his middle finger at supporters, reports the Irish Independent.
The incident occurred during a match between FC Baden and Young Boys, when supporters of the lower league club from Baden invaded the pitch when their side took an unlikely lead.
Busacca asked for a warning message to be relayed over the stadium public address system, eliciting personal abuse from the same supporters.
The match official later apologised for his actions.
"I let myself be provoked by verbal abuse from supporters," said Busacca.
"Unfortunately, I lost my cool with an unsporting gesture. I was wrong and I will pay the price."
