Villa's Milner happy to take on spotkick duties
Aston Villa winger James Milner was delighted with his spotkick after victory over Portsmouth.
He told AVTV: "It was a blur really but I think Youngy came over to offer and I was more than happy to take it.
"I've said before, as long as the ball ends up in the back of the net it doesn't matter who takes it."
Milner hailed a professional Villa display, which saw them build a comfortable lead in the first-half, before withstanding a Pompey fightback in the second.
He added: "The clean sheet is the main thing and a couple of goals against a team who were always going to come here and be solid - obviously desperate to kickstart their season after a poor start.
"We knew they were going to come out second-half and it was always about us trying to come out and match them. They started very well and created chances and Brad made a couple of very good saves.
"We could have controlled the game a bit better at 2-0 and see out the game but we managed to get the three points and that is the main thing."
