Zenit planning new offer for Spurs striker Pavlyuchenko

Zenit St Petersburg are planning a £9 million bid for Tottenham striker Roman Pavlyuchenko.

Zenit president Alexander Dyukov said: "There was an offer for Pavlyuchenko. But Tottenham asked for unreal money. It was about 18m euros (£16.2m).

"Maybe Pavlyuchenko is worth the money is there is a club willing to pay that amount, but Zenit are not.

"It's possible that in the winter we will return for Pavlyuchenko. We wait to see if Tottenham become more realistic."

Pavlyuchenko, 27, is gravely concerned that he will not go to the World Cup next summer if he cannot break into the Spurs side, having played less than 15 minutes of Barclays Premier League football so far this season.
