Blanco performs U-turn over Chicago Fire stay

Cuauhtemoc Blanco has declared he wants to stay with Chicago Fire.

In March, the Mexican soccer icon had said he was ready to return home at the end of this season.

But yesterday, Blanco told Fanhouse: "That comment was taken out of context.

"I'm happy to play in Chicago. The goal and the hope is that I'm renewed one more year with the Chicago Fire."
