Roma director Conti: Ferguson should know better

I found another piece of information for you Mr Frontal Lobotomy. You claim Messi had an Italien passport? Then why could he not play in the Barcelona first team in La Liga until he had secured a Spanish passport (as stated on his own official website).

Guess what... He was an Argentine with NO european passport, meaning Barcelona couldn't play him due to the 3 none EU player rule, at the time these three places were filled with Marquez, Ronaldinho and Eto'o! Exactly the same situation as with Giovani dos Santos too.

Listen Italian Clubs are a scandal and should be the last ones pointing finger at anyone else. They have raped poor African nations for decades and their behaviour in dealing with payment of transfer fees is unprofessional Mr Conti, do you remember that FIFA suspended AS ROma from conducting any transfers until all monies owed by Roma to Clubs in Europe were paid? Remember the Mexes transfer???

As someone of Italian descent I say Italian Football Clubs (barring Juve and AC Milan) are a disgrace.

Sir Alex and United at least treat people in a professional manner. As an Agent let me say when you do a deal in the UK everything is documented and when it comes to paying Clubs, players and Agents, the UK Clubs are precise and professional. Italian Clubs are untrustworthy, do not document contracts whereever they can get away with it and treat everybody with contempt.

Michel Platini was lucky he played for the most professional Club in the world at the time he was in Italy with Juventus. But i am sure he knows what the real truth is behind Italian football is and would shudder at the thought of what corruption and dirty dealins UEFA will find. If Chelsea and Man United are in trouble, God help Italy.

Sir purple nose.. sigh wat a douchebag

looks like red nose and united are the next in Platini's hunting list...
I'm sure he'll get them all .. those brit cheaters and thieves who get young players from poor clubs for nowth.

he's still living off academy lads even today (giggs for one) nothing good has come through since so he has to steal other clubs kids. purple nose's team has declined. he relied on ronaldo too much.

Hate to tell you Frontal Lobotomy but the fact Messi has Italian ancestors means nothing. To gain dual nationality you need to have a GRANDFATHER who is of that nationality. As the only Italian ancestors in his bloodline were in Argentina in 1883, I very much doubt thats his grandfather. He is Argentine with Spanish second nationality through living in Spain.

Higuain is a Frenchman who applied for an Argentine passport, he may have been born to a former player who was Argentine/French (gained through a French Passport) but he was born in France and never had any claim to be Argentine until he lived there for a set amount of years. So he is infact French/Argentine.

GOODBYE FERGIE

Anonymous, not to poke holes in what you;re saying, but Leo Messi had an Italian passport anyway, like with Javier Zanetti and other dual nationality Argentinians like Higuain. The point is that young players maybe shouldnb't be poached by big clubs, but every big club in the world does this. If you're the manager and youe head scout tells you about some sh1thot 15 year old that could become one of the world's great players, knowing you could get him at such a young age to ensure he has the best conditions for reaching that potential, you'd get him. Not to say smaller clubs are inferior in developing youth talent, it's just the big clubs want to see them making the grade earlier, which sometimes works unfavourably for them.

Simple fact is that English clubs have to do this sort of thing to get good young none English players. Unlike all these foreign nations we cannot go out and sign anybody we fancy due to our work permit laws, but as its English clubs who take advantage of other countries rules we should obviously be penalised for it.

Forget the fact that Pato signed for AC Milan before he turned 18, which is ILLEGAL!! The way they got round it was to offer Pato's dad a job and a house so that Pato's family would have a reason to move to Italy, thus helping ratify the transfer of Pato himself.

The simple fact is this, you use whatever laws you can to get the best of a situation, note for example that the Spanish Law states that Africans can now be classed as Europeans within Spain. Meaning players such as Keita, Toure, Diarra are all exempt from the "3 none EU players rule" that La Liga has. They also have the rule that pretty much every player from a Latin American nation (from Honduras through to Brazil) can get a Spanish passport within TWO years. So by the time Messi was 15, he could have also played for Spain!

But of course, its UEFA doing some whineing and as English clubs have one little advantage they should have that taken away from them. Why not just ban any team from signing players who were born outside of a 5 mile radius of their stadium...
