Celtic complete signing of China captain Zheng Zhi

Chinese national team captain Zheng Zhi has signed with Scottish giants Celtic.

The 29-year old has signed a two-year deal with the Hoops, joining from English Championship club Charlton Athletic.

Celtic boss Tony Mowbray was delighted to have acquired the experienced midfielder.

“I’m delighted he’s joining us,” Mowbray said.

“He will significantly add to the squad and he can play in a number of positions. He is a player I have tracked for some time.

“We now need to tie up loose ends and obtain a work permit, which we hope to do before our next game.”
