Asian Soccer Star Singh hopeful of winning Chelsea contract

Asian Soccer Star winner Jhai Singh Dillon is hopeful of winning a contract with English Premier League club Chelsea.

The youngster won the competition in May and has been trialing with the Blues and is keen to impress the coaches so he can win a youth contract with the club.

Singh played in a recent U15 match between the Chelsea youth side and LAFC Chelsea, a club based in Los Angeles but was forced off the pitch late in the piece because of injury.

“I can play centre-half or centre-midfield, but today was tough because I have only trained yesterday morning, so I’m tired with the fitness side,” he told Chelsea’s official website after the match.

Singh said he had been trying hard to get fit for the trial with Chelsea after winning the competition and remained hopeful of staying at the club longer.

“My school teacher in Hertfordshire told me about the competition on the website, I came along and was picked out,” he said.

“It’s the only thing I’ve been thinking about, trying to get fit for this, and I have one more day on trial and then hopefully more afterwards.”
