Totally agree, every pass is either sideways or backwards, to slow in his movement around the pitch, Chelsea, especially at home need to play at a high tempo which Mikel doesn't seem to understand.A perfect example on how to play was yesterday's demolition of Sunderland, pace, power and very little backward passing, Deco was a revalation, just hope he can keep the level of performance up, nlike last year.Best midfield is Lampard,Essien,Ballack and Deco, with Cole and Zirkov as alternative's when fit. Also we should drop Anelka and play Sturrage alongside Drogba.
U re one of the stupidest chels fan in history...fair enough take time to watch is movement on the pitch...and again try to watch with ur magnifying lens
Wat i h8 is castigatin. If u tink dat mikel is not d right man 4 d position, u as contributor in dis progrm shuld go and sel him. Pls stop castigatin him cos i beliv he stil ve somtin 2 ofer 4 chelsea
Football fans who have never played the game can only see the merits of players who provide bits of magic in a game. Those of us who have played the game at a decent level can see the merits of players like Obi. Here they are.
1. He is very difficult to disposess
2 He is tacticaly aware
3 He keeps it simple
4 He never hides
5 Covers other players runs
6 Makes good interceptions
Added to all those attributes he is also still young and learning the game. He has just signed a long contract. Essien is a better player because he is the best all round midfield player in the world. Mark my words Carlo will improve Mikel through training and making him fight for his place. All you wannabee Chelsea fans who start knocking our young players pick another team to support from afar. Saying Carlo has lost patience with him is just the usual uninformed lazy speculation from a talentless hack
I still think all the contributors to this have never watched Mikel and Chelsea so Chelseapato,Look, Craigyboy or whatever u choose to call urselves should up the levels of understanding the Mikel play.
Mikel is the best passer of the ball more than any top player today in the world
Mikel is a fair player if he don't thinking of going infront. Chelsea need him to do Makalele job
you guys are missing the point about mikel, the real reason why he is not fitting into anceloti's system is cause anceloti wants a pirlo type player, whose not as much a 5 defender but rather a simple low lying midfielder who picks passes, and that is mikels weakness, he plays a superb defensive midfielder in terms of marking and defending, however why he has poor performances is that he cannot make the pin point passes that anceloti wants, i see essien continuing to be the roaming midfielder as loti can use him anywhere, essien stays, ballack will probly go, but i see deco having a return to first team football because i feel hes the best candidate to play that feeding role in the low lying mifield position, not mikel, weve played with a diamond before, just not with the same player roles, everyone seems to forget this
too lazy, too slow, overhyped not ointense enough, cant tackle, gobby to refs, please sell him and put the money + pizarro money towards aguero, plus he be at africa cup in jan so we wont miss him,id rather have belletti than mikel
yh i think mikel needs to go i think he is slow he takes way to long to decide what to do wid the ball he is not creative hes a bad passer and not a good tackler so basically he aint a footballer in my view
