Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti is demanding more from John Obi Mikel.
The Nigeria international is earmarked for a critical role for the new season and Ancelotti said: "He has to improve when we have the ball.
"He has the possibility to improve because he's young, he's intelligent and he's motivated to do better. He plays in the same position I played, and it's not so easy to arrive up-field to score.
"It's an important position for the team. From them [holding players] comes a lot of the play."
