Lineker expects Shearer to be back in the studio

BBC’s Gary Lineker expects Alan Shearer to be back in the Match of the Day studio with him rather than overseeing Newcastle United.

With the Magpies still in off-field turmoil, Shearer’s managerial future at St James’ Park is unclear and Lineker expects to be back in working partnership unless something dramatic occurs.

"Shearer will be in the studio with us unless something dramatic happens,” Lineker said.

"It is such a shame that a big club like that can be in a terrible mess. It is hard to know what will happen."
