Manchester City are eyeing Porto defender Bruno Alves.
The Daily Star Sunday says that would put City in direct competition with Chelsea again, as new Stamford Bridge boss Carlo Ancelotti also wants £20million-rated Alves.
The Porto defender is also a target for Champions League winners Barcelona and has become one of the most wanted players in Europe.
City have already been in competition with Chelsea for Carlos Tevez and have rocked The Bridge by their audacious £30m move for John Terry.
