Maccarone happy to commit to Siena
Massimo Maccarone is happy to commit himself to Siena.
“It is not the first time that the opportunity to sign a better contract has come along, but like every year I decide to remain here,” explained the former Middlesbrough man.
“I make that decision with the utmost conviction, because at Siena I have found the calm atmosphere I needed.
“I am very tied to this city, the friends I have here, the club and those who work within it. These ties are far more important to me than any wage increase.”
There were reports this time Maccarone would walk away following rows with Coach Marco Giampaolo.
“I know these rumours were around, but I really respect him and consider him to be a great tactician.
“Over the course of a year there can be some differences of opinion, fairly vivacious ones, such as when a player is disappointed at being substituted, but this is all perfectly normal for all football teams.”
