The problem with newcastle hass been that we pay too much on wages leaving us with too little money for transfers from the clubs own income. Ashley had this problem and couldnt provide us with trasnfers funds to match even the likes of fulham and sunderland. This bloke seems to have enough money to supplement the club until all the wasters leave and get back into the prem.
It is obvious that he will not make a profit directly from newcastle as nobody does from football these days, and he still has alot of work to make the club competitive in the prem and the transfer market.
This man's business is huge, from oil into telephony and tv, he also has put up 3 satellites so he can expand his tv part and also earns a quarter of his wealth from on-line gambling.
The Asians are football mad much like ourselves so I can see why a takeover of Newcastle United would be seen as a useful marketing tool if we were broadcast across the Asian sub-continent.
