Barcelona coach Guardiola wants Valencia winger Mata

Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola is keen on Valencia winger Juan Mata.

Sport says Guardiola wants to strengthen the left-side of midfield and is keen to bring former Real Madrid starlet Mata to the Nou Camp.

Barca are already in talks with Valencia for striker David Villa and will also ask about Mata being included in the deal.

Meanwhile, former Barca captain Sergi Barjuan has joined the club's youth coaching staff.
