Sunderland defender Greg Halford is on his way to Wolves in a £2 million deal.
The 24-year-old right-back is set to complete a switch to Molineux in the next 24 hours.
It will be Mick McCarthy's third capture of the week after striker Kevin Doyle (Reading) and midfielder Andrew Surman (Southampton).
And it will take the former Sunderland manager's summer spending in total to approximately £12million.
Halford spent last season on loan at Sheffield United and will provide competition for Kevin Foley, who was Wolves' player of the year last season.
