North Queensland Fury will rest marquee signing Robbie Fowler for a few more weeks.
The former England striker will not play in the Fury’s pre-season clash with Sydney FC tomorrow night but coach Ian Ferguson has assured fans he will be ready for the opening match of the A-League season.
"He has a problem with his abductor but he is progressing well with his rehab," Ferguson said.
"After Sydney we've got a game against Adelaide in Darwin but I'm hoping Robbie will come to Perth with us when we play against Perth and newly promoted English Premier League club Wolves.
"I am sure he'll be ready to go when we play Sydney in our opening match of the A-League (August 8 in Townsville)."
