Man City, Tottenham make swap offers for Liverpool's Keane
Liverpool striker Robbie Keane is the subject of swap offers from two Premiership rivals.
Keane only played eight minutes in Liverpool's draw with Wigan last night.
The Telegraph says yet another blow for Keane is likely to encourage his suitors, Manchester City and former club Tottenham, that they can prise him away from his boyhood team before the transfer window closes. Both are thought to be preparing cash-plus-player deals, Spurs offering Aaron Lennon and City Brazilian playmaker Elano.
But Rafa Benitez is adamant he wants to hold on to the striker, saying: “I think Robbie will stay, yes. We wanted to keep the pace of Ryan Babel so we brought other players on. Then when we needed a player to work between the lines we brought Robbie on."
