Tottenham to offer Jenas in bid for Wigan's Palacios

Tottenham are making a new bid for Wigan Athletic midfielder Wilson Palacios.

The Daily Mail says Latics boss Steve Bruce is fighting to keep Palacios after Tottenham Hotspur made an £8million bid for the Honduras international.

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp's initial offer for the 24-year-old has been turned down by Bruce and Wigan chairman Dave Whelan, but Redknapp is now prepared to offer England midfielder Jermaine Jenas as part of the deal.

Jenas, whose role as Spurs vice-captain has been subject of recent speculation, was left out of the Tottenham side which lost at the JJB Stadium on Sunday and he has struggled to keep a regular place since Redknapp took over at White Hart Lane.
