Newcastle to bid for Porto midfielder Raul Meireles
Newcastle United are preparing a bid for Porto midfielder Raul Meireles.
The Daily Mail says Toon chiefs plan a £4 million offer for the ball-winning midfielder.
Newcastle chief Dennis Wise has made several scouting trips to Portugal to check on Meireles' form this season. The holding midfielder, 25, who has 15 caps for Portugal, is believed to be considering a £4 million switch to St James's Park.
